TORREIRA SPEAKS ON ENJOYING OZIL, LACAZETTE COMPANY

Arsenal loanee Lucas Torreira has had his say on the opening weeks of his career at the club. The Uruguayan midfielder talked about the earlier part of his time at Arsenal in a chat with Italian media outlet Cronache Di Spogliatoio.

Torreira was established as a first-team regular at Italian team Sampdoria when he joined Arsenal in the summer of 2018 while new manager Unai Emery was trying to overhaul the team that has grown stale during the final years of the Arsene Wenger era in North London. Continue reading

OZIL SET FOR AN AWKWARD REUNION

The last couple of years has been crazy for Mesut Ozil. The German had to endure being frozen out at the club level by Arsenal for comments made against the Chinese government. He was also forced out of the German National team for political reasons and it looked like the end of the road for Ozil. He has found a new home in Fenerbache but looks like things are about to get rather uneasy for the ex-Real man.

Joachim Low has been touted as an end-of-the-season prospect for the Turkish club as they try to rebuild from an underwhelming 2021/2022 season that sees the team currently sit in 6th place. Ismail Kartal would most likely step down in May, as his appointment has always been for the short-term. Low is currently linked with the job, and various sources have confirmed that he’s actually interested in the job.

OZIL REACTS TO ARSENAL TRANSFER

Fenerbahce midfielder Mesut Ozil has reacted to the transfer involving Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles. England international Maitland-Niles has left Arsenal to join AS Roma in the Italian Serie A on loan until the end of the season. The Gunners will receive €600,000 for the loan deal plus another €600,000 if certain conditions are met. In addition, AS Roma will pay his salary for the entire duration of the loan deal.

24-year-old Maitland-Niles is a utility player who can play in a number of positionseffectively and efficiently. Central midfield is his preferred position but he can also play either as a left fullback or as a right fullback. The Englishman can also do a good job on either the left side of the attacking midfield position or the right side of the attacking midfield position.

SANCHO SET FOR UNITED RECALL

Summer signing Jadon Sancho is expected to return to the Manchester United squad for their trip to face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday evening. The Ex-Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund winger was one of several first team players who were rested for the dead rubber clash with Young Boys of Switzerland in the Champions League this week.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick decided to rest the players who were involved in the last Premier League game against South Londoners Crystal Palace for the Young Boys encounter at Old Trafford and Jadon Sancho was one of those rested by the German.

SANCHO SUBBED ON FOR DRAMATIC DRAW

Summer signing Jadon Sancho was a second half substitute as his Manchester United side claimed a dramatic draw against Italian Serie A side Atalanta in the Champions League. Manchester United hit the equaliser in stoppage time to earn a point and move closer to a place in the knockout stage. Star man Cristiano Ronaldo was the recipient of the late goal that secured a point for Manchester United in their Group F clash with Atalanta. As a matter of fact, Ronaldo scored twice to take his goal tally to eight goals in eleven (11) games in all competitions.

Manchester United tried to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga for over a year and they were unsuccessful until this summer when a deal was reached for around £79m. Jadon Sancho has been largely anonymous since his transfer and he’s yet to score or assist a goal in 12 appearances though it must be pointed out that a lot of the games were played as a second half substitute. SANCHO, AN UNUSED SUBSTITUTE IN DRAW

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho was left out of the starting XI for the disappointing 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier between England and Hungary in Group I as far as the UEFA section is concerned.

Jadon Sancho was left on the bench despite the fact that he played well in the defeat of Andorra on Saturday. The new Manchester United player provided two assists as England thumped Andorra 5-0 when the two nations met in their World Cup qualifying matchup. Jack Grealish was the man who was subbed on for Jadon Sancho around the 72-minute mark of the away game at Andorra for the Three Lions of England. ÖZIL: SANCHO WILL COME GOOD IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Former Arsenal star Mesut Özil has defender new Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho as the winger continues to try to adjust to life in England. Manchester United finally signed England international winger Sancho this summer after initially trying and failing to do so last year. United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjaer had long seen Sancho as an ideal signing for his side and tried to sign him last summer but with Dortmund refusing to drop their £120 million price tag, it was hard for United to negotiate and the transfer had to be called off as negotiations between the two clubs reached the deadline that the German club set without any significant improvement.

Fast forward to a year later, United re-opened negotiations with the German Bundesliga outfit, and this time, there was a compromise. After remaining stubborn that they would only sell their star for nothing less than £120 million, they eventually agreed to sell him for £75 million after all parties involved in the negotiation reached an agreement finally. Sancho arrived at Old Trafford and signed his new contract at the club and was finally unveiled as a Manchester United player much to the delight of the fans of the Red Devils. Continue reading

HAALAND BREAKS SILENCE ON SANCHO’S EXIT

Borussia Dortmund hitman ErlingHaaland has spoken about Jadon Sancho for the first time since he left the German club to sign for Manchester United in the Premier League. England international was keen to return to the Premier League after four years in Germany this summer and he got his wish.

Jadon Sancho and ErlingHaaland developed a good understanding off and on the pitch on the back of his move from Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg at the start of last year. Sancho had been at Dortmund since his move from Manchester City in 2017 and he was joined by Haaland three years later.

ÖZIL REVEALS WHAT HE THINKS ABOUT DORTMUND STAR

It’s hard for any true football fan right now – especially the ones that support Manchester United – to not have heard of Jadon Sancho. The England international star has risen to fame in the last couple of years and has also made a name for himself as one of the best young attacking talents in world football. However, despite all of that, his future has been up in the air in the last couple of months.

Sancho currently plays for German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund but is a well-known transfer target of English Premier League giants Manchester United who have been trying to sign him in the last two years. The Red Devils have been chasing the attacker for some time now and even though they have done well to secure an agreement on personal terms with the winger, they have still not been able to meet up with Dortmund’s asking price for their prized asset.

LIVERPOOL IN TALKS FOR NEW OZIL

Premier League giants Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with AC Milan playmaker HakanCalhanoglu who has been labelled the new Mesut Ozil.

Turkish international Calhanoglu shares a similar playing style with Mesut Ozil according to manager Winfried Schafer in one of his interviewsquoted by Goal. According to him, the AC Milan midfielder is the new Mesut Ozil.
