OZIL IN MLS TALKS

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is in advanced talks to sign for Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United in the ongoing transfer window. The January transfer market opened some days back and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has already confirmed that there would be several outgoings and Mesut Ozil could be one of the players to leave the Gunners after the World Cup winner was frozen out of the first team squad. Arsenal defenders Sead Kolasinac and William Saliba have already left the club on loan since the January transfer market started and several players are expected to follow them out of the Arsenal door.

Bosnian defender Kolasinac returned to former team Schalke 04 on loan for the remainder of the season. He had signed for the Gunners from Schalke 04 on a free transfer in 2017. Young French defender Saliba has returned to Ligue 1 after signing for OGC Nice on loan till the summer. The centre back prospect has not played for the Arsenal first team since his £25m transfer from Saint Etienne in the top flight of French football.

The Gunners signed him in the summer of 2019 before sending him back on loan for the entire duration of last season. Experienced Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is expected to follow both Sead Kolasinac and William Saliba out of the Emirates Stadium after various media outlets reported that DC United of the MLS are closing in on a move for him.

The specific report from Football London revealed that the MLS club has offered Mesut Ozil a very good transfer package including the opportunity to expand his M10 brand in the United States. Mesut Ozil has been offered the chance to expand his 39 Steps Coffee brand at their match venue, the Audi Field Stadium. The expansion of his Merchandise line has also been discussed, while DC United also want Mesut Ozil to be the face of the club.
