Football Coach Remembers Spc. Kurt Kern

McAllen Memorial Head Football Coach Bill Littleton said he remembers Spc. Kurt Kern as a hard-working, “pleasant young man.” It is the home of the Mustangs, and for four years, a second home to Army Specialist Kurt Kern. The McAllen Memorial High School Class of 2006 graduate was also a member of the football team.

A growing body of evidence suggests that head trauma in young people can lead to permanent brain damage. We went to Wimberley High School in the Hill Country to find out how their football team is responding to new rules passed by the Texas Legislature to prevent concussions.
