Former Arsenal star asks for more commitment from Mesut Ozil

Former Arsenal defender Lauren believes Mesut Ozil must show more commitment in order to revive his career at the north London side. The 31-year-old was sidelined after the coronavirus shutdown last season and manager Mikel Arteta cited that he was being left out of the team due to internal reasons.

Speaking to Goal.com, Lauren has said that there are no doubts regarding the ability of Ozil, but the German needs to show the same mentality as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who gives his best in every single game for the capital outfit, he told Goal.com: “If you ask any Arsenal fan around the world, nobody will doubt Ozil’s quality. Maybe it’s a bit risky what I’m about to say now, but I would like to see the same mentality from Ozil as we see with Aubameyang, every single game and every single year.

Berbatov urges Jadon Sancho to stay put at Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United favourite Dimitar Berbatov believes Jadon Sancho should decline a move to Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens this summer. The England international has been in superb form for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga this term where he has amassed 14 goals and 15 assists.

His progress has caught the eye of several elite European clubs but United have been touted as the favourites to sign him in a potential club-record deal. Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is set to walk away for free next term as the club has decided not to renew the deal, as per reports. Ozil is the biggest earner at the Emirates on a 350,000 pounds a week deal.

The contract sum is affecting negotiations with other players who are in talks with the club. Arsenal are keen on retaining their skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid interest from numerous clubs. The Gabon international’s deal ends next year but the Gunners want him to extend now. In doing so the player, who knows he has peaked, is seeking the best deal based on the club’s financial structure. He wants the right price and length to commit, and it seems the Ozil wage bill is in effect.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has declared he is not sure what the future holds for him in North London.

The German joined the Gunners from Real Madrid in 2013, but the last few seasons have been very tough for the player. He was dropped during the last few days of Unai Emery reign, and it was reported that it was a joint decision to freeze the player out of the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are going into the weekend with a match against the Saints of Southampton and yet everybody connected with the club is dreading how much awful the matchday will still be.

The Gunners have been on a free fall since the beginning of the season and despite critics blasting head coach Unai Emery for his mediocre tactics, the former Sevilla coach has named Mesut Ozil among his starting eleven and also stuck with the back-three formation

Arsenal needs to improve

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that the Arsenal team needs to improve as a unit. He said that despite making all the signings the team has failed to improve collectively and this is why they are struggling in the Premier League.

Ian Wright said the team needs to learn how to defend collectively and that there is so much space between the midfield and the defence when they lose the ball. He believes that this is the main reason that they have conceded so many goals since the start of the season.
